"I'm thinking James Bond never looked this fine." J. August Richards brings Charles Gunn to life every week on Angel. Gunn was first introduced as a tough young man of the streets turned rogue vampire hunter. He joined the Angel Investigations team gradually, having been brought in on a regular basis for special cases that required 'extra muscle', which is what his functional role became. However, when Angel Investigations took the deal to run Wolfram & Hart, his role was elevated to that of resident lawyer. After all, can't run a law firm without at least one actual lawyer at the helm.

Official Bio "Michael Jackson is the reason I'm in the entertainment industry. I went to see The Bad Tour when I was around 11 years old and I was completely mesmerized. That's when I knew this [acting] was for me." Jaime Augusto Richards (pronounced "Hai-may") was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. He began his television career on The Cosby Show at the age of 14 after a casting director noticed him at a summer camp. He followed that success up by being a member of the travelling cast of Chemapalooza, a Chemistry safety show. He went on to play "Stuey" on the sitcom Clueless and skipped around for a while on such shows as Diagnosis: Murder, The Good News, Players, Chicago Hope, Sliders, The Practice, The West Wing, Nash Bridges, Moesha, OP Center, The Temptations, Mutiny, and Running Mates before landing the role of Charles Gunn. He has also appeared in the epic film Good Burger in 1997 and the 1998 romance Why Do Fools Fall In Love? He attributes a lot of his success to acting workshops he took under Eriq LaSalle and Michael Beach, the medical maniacs from ER and Third Watch, respectively. (They pushed him so hard that he reportedly once nearly came to blows with Beach in the middle of class.)
On the side, he maintains an interest in Dolce & Gabbana suits with "funky shirts" and astronomy. His favourite movie is Stephen Soderbergh's Sex, Lies, and Videotape. His favourite childhood toy was a model of Han Solo's Millennium Falcon. (He'd play Star Wars with his friends and always wind up being Lando, secretly pining for the raging freedom accompanying the role of Boba Fett
