Amy Acker
"Wow. You know, next to you, I am downright linear." Amy is Winifred "Fred" Burkle, a perky and extremely intelligent young woman who was rescued from the dimension Pylea by the gang in the end of the second season and joined Angel Investigations as a full-time member in the third. Since her introduction, Fred has blossomed considerably from the shy and insecure girl-next door to the strong-minded head of the Practical Science Department of Wolfram & Hart and resident heartbreaker.

Interesting Info When Amy first auditioned for the role of Fred, the character was a little different - still eccentric and highly intelligent, but called Logan, and not stranded in Pylea. Despite Amy having worked to lose her Texas accent, Joss Whedon and David Greenwalt decided they wanted Fred to have the accent. Amy also wore her own glasses to the audition, and the ones that Fred wears in the show are exact copies. Fred was originally a three-episode role, but after Amy shot some scenes with Alexis Denisof and J. August Richards, they offered her a regular role for Season 3.
